Each Jewish woman or Jewish man goes alone into the immersion pool of a mikveh. A Balanit (attendant) accompanies women. A man is present with the men. Thus it is ensured that everything is done according to the regulations. Many Jewish women experience a positive turning point after a severe experience (death, trauma) at the mikveh. The Talmud (Kiddushin 30a) says that God himself is like a mikveh for the entire Jewish people. Those who turn to Him experience purity.
